OUR SERVICESTREATMENTS

Soundness Evaluations: Thorough approach for the early diagnosis of primary and secondary pain sources that have direct correlation with the production of back pain and lameness in performance horses.

Intra-Articular Injections (neck, back, front and hind limbs): Very important form of treatment of the most common sources of primary and secondary pathologies that are directly correlated to back pain in performance horses.

Pre-Purchase Evaluation: In-depth evaluation of the horse that is going to be purchased, providing the buyer with a objective investment risk assessment.

Includes:

  • Comprehensive physical and soundness evaluation

  • Radiologic Examination

  • Ultrasonographic Evaluation

  • General ophtalmoscopic examination

  • Drug screen

  • Neurologic Evaluation (if required)

  • Endoscopic Evaluation (if required)

Upper Airway Endoscopy: For evaluation of the function of the upper airways and guttural pouches. Used in horses with nasal discharge, exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhage, head shakers, horses that make noise when exercised and upper airway function evaluation.

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy: This technology is used in the treatment of soft tissue and bone pathologies as well as in local treatment of back and neck pain.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP): A concentrated form of growth factors used in healing various injuries and tissue repair.

Stem Cell Injections: For treatment of soft tissue lesions (tendons and ligaments) in order to speed the recovery as well as to improve the quality of the fibers during the healing process. Stem Cell injections are done using ultrasonographic guided injections.

IRAP (Orthokine): Used for intra-articular as well as for some soft tissue injections. The way the blood sample is processed concentrates the body's own anti-inflammatory substances, therefore avoiding the use of steroids.

Acupuncture: Procedure involving the stimulation of anatomical points on the body using a variety of needling and other techniques aimed to treat pain and promote healing.

Mesotherapy:  a procedure in which multiple tiny injections are delivered into the mesodermal layer of tissue under the skin, to relieve muscle spasm.

Diagnostic Tools:

High Resolution Digital Radiology: allows detailed and precise evaluation of the bone contour, structure and in some instances some soft tissue pathologies of front and hind limbs, Cervical, Thoracic, Lumbar Spine, and head.

High Resolution Ultrasonography: provides a clear and unique diagnostic image. Very important tool in the evaluation of the soft tissue, joints and bone contour pathologies. Used for the treatment of tendons and ligaments that require Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) , Sacro-Iliac/Lumbo-Sacral Joints and Cervical facet ultrasonographic guided injections.

OTHER SERVICES:

Rehabilitation Facility: For rehabilitation of horses with sports related injuries especially soft tissue. Using the latest technology including: shockwave, laser, other topical therapies and exercising treadmill.

Farrier Consultation: Collaborate with Farrier to shoe horse each horse according to their unique conformation. Changes in hoof balance or hoof wall structure are directly correlated with compensatory back pain. Communication between farrier and veterinarian is very important.
